Are you ready for a short riddle and my (questionable) wit? To solve this puzzle you will have to use your wisdom with a dash of grit!
If you want to start your day with calm and vigor (yes, it is possible to feel both) I highly recommend starting your morning with yoga. The act of breathing, stretching, and letting your body and mind slowly wake up is much better than the slap-in-your-face of social media.
The few times I have checked social media or my email as soon as I wake up usually doesn’t end well. Then I get stuck into a disdain for mankind and it all started with something unpleasant when I woke up. It’s a tough feeling to shake. I don’t want that for me and I don’t want that for you – we deserve better!
However, starting my day with yoga leaves me feeling peaceful and accomplished. If I am unable to squeeze exercise into any other part of my day, it still feels like a fitness win. With our mandatory staycation, I have been struggling to keep up with my fitness goals which is chipping away at my sanity.
Another nugget of wisdom: yoga is convenient and cheap! No gym membership, driving anywhere, or fancy gear. Of course, you can make it as expensive as you want. I prefer free fitness. I did invest in a mat similar to this one.
If you are unsure if you want to make yoga apart of your already busy life, I recommend the test and scale method. Find a short video, try some poses, and if you like it, keep with it. Keep adding minutes and poses until you feel like you have a solid routine. If you decide you’re the worst at yoga and that yoga is only meant for people with proper yoga pants, well that is something too. If I could, I would give you a digital cupcake just for effort.
How are you going to start your day?
You got this!
