Are you ready for a short riddle and my questionable wit? To solve this puzzle you will have to use your wisdom with a dash of grit! Focus on dryer, ball, and wool, then you’ll solve it!
I prefer the texture of wool
But I am merely a handful
I dance in places that are dryer
I won’t offend a frugal buyer
Look! I’m having a ball
And its true life is best when in a dancehall
What am I?
I have a
disproportionate fondness for dryer balls. Mostly because this simple addition makes a significant difference in my laundry routine. It enhances drying time which equates to less time sucking up expensive dryer energy. Plus, they are quiet. I have previously purchased plastic dryer balls but they are in a word, obnoxious. Turns out, I like a quiet house not one that sounds like there is someone with a gambling problem in my laundry room.
$9. That is how much I had to invest for wool dryer balls. That seems like a pretty sweet investment considering all the benefits like an increase in dryer efficiency, a decrease in household chemical use, as a bonus this single purchase lasts for years versus the frequent purchase of dryer sheets. All the savings in such a cute wooly ball! You had my heart at hello with warm clothes and saved money.
An Environmental Ball
Dryer balls save the environment on all the levels. Dryer sheets are coated in chemicals. When you throw them in the dryer those chemicals get leeched out and attach to your clothes. Which is why they don’t have static cling but now you have chemicals touching you. All the time. Yep. Chemicals have their place in our world but not next to my skin. Whereas, a dryer ball bounces around for funsies and removes static cling from my clothes with zero chemicals.
I know, it seems a bit bizarre to get so attached to this tiny facet of our everyday lives. However, I am a firm believer in little intentional habits that build up to big savings in money and time. Let’s do bigger and better things with that extra time and money.
What are your little intentional habits that have produced big results?
